Day 1: Bosque de Pómac & The Peruvian Plantcutter

Your adventure begins upon arrival at Chiclayo Airport, where we’ll transfer directly to the Bosque de Pómac National Sanctuary. This unique dry forest ecosystem is home to an array of endemic species, including the elusive Peruvian Plantcutter, a bird found only in Northern Peru. As we navigate the sanctuary, keep your binoculars ready for other endemic birds such as the Rufous Flycatcher and Tumbes Tyrant.

Day 2: Chaparri Private Conservation Area

Embark on a full-day expedition to the Chaparri Private Conservation Area, Peru’s first private nature reserve. This pristine sanctuary is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and offers a rare opportunity to spot the White-winged Guan—a bird once thought to be extinct and now thriving under protection.

As we trek through the varied altitudes of the Peruvian Dry Forest, you'll also encounter other endemic species, including the Tumbes Hummingbird and the Elegant Crescentchest.

Evening: Board a luxury night bus for a comfortable 7-8 hour journey to the warm, equatorial city of Tumbes.

Day 3: Exploring the Tumbesian Endemic Region

Arriving in Tumbes, we’ll check into our selected hotel and enjoy a quick breakfast before setting off to the Tumbes Mangroves National Sanctuary. This vibrant coastal ecosystem, made up of intricate water channels and mangrove islands, is a paradise for birdwatchers. Glide through the mangroves by boat and observe a dazzling array of species, including:
